Well the time has come for me to become unlazy.. Since last year I’ve seemed to have put on a little weight that I want to get rid of… During our move from South Carolina up to Tennessee, eating out became second nature to us and well the rest is history. So last night I started….

Let’s hope that this works.. I’m really sore today from the level 1 workout, I’ve started logging my food into FITDAY and did my measurements. I am determined to stick with this and lose what I can and gain some muscle tone.

Maybe I will look like Jillian when I’m done..

Today I decided I had to post somethings on my sites, it’d been a few days and if I waited any longer it would just be to long! Most of you may or may not know that Chris and I have been having some issues with our host and now our home network. Last week our sites were hacked into on three seperate occusions. We noticed that the last time that all the sites that were on the same server as us at our hosting company had also been hacked. Over 500 sites on one server completely taken over by these people. We corrected the problem and we were back up before anyone really noticed. Within the next few days the server went down completely, and according to our home router never have came back up.

Strange? Yes. We haven’t been able to pin point the problem. Currently I’m connected directly to our modem and I can access everything fine. However when I go through our Router (Netgear RangeMax) we can’t on any four of our computers access our websites. We’ve had two of our friends who are ITs look into it and they can’t figure it out. My next step will be to return our router and get a new one to see if that fixes the problem. We’ve really not had this modem for that long so it shouldn’t have problems like this. So returning it and getting another one only seems like the logical thing to do. If it’s still blocked then there’s something that’s more wrong than we thought.

In better news my buddy Bob is having one heck of a contest over on his site, BobBuskirk.com.
Bristol Motor Speedway has been voted favorite track by the fans for years. It’s fast, there’s usually at least one “big one”, and Bristol always seems to make the drivers work (drive) harder (better) than the other tracks. We were lucky enough to be able to come up and go to both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races at Bristol.

Bristol is a special place for me because it’s my hometown track. I was born and raised about an hour from the track in Southwest Virginia. Which was also good because we stay with my parents, no hotels for us. So it was definitely #1 on my list for it to be the first race I ever attend. I’ve been a NASCAR fan for as long as I can remember. I don’t remember not watching it if that tells you anything! Usually Bristol tickets are the hardest to get, the tickets sell out quickly. I’ve always heard they sell out years in advance but that’s not true at all. Usually being from the area, if you aren’t attending the race you don’t go near the track due to the traffic and sheer amount of people. The August races are the best (in my opinion) because they take place under the lights. The race starts at twilight and goes on into the night making it much more dramatic.

Like I said we attended both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup races. Friday was the Nationwide series race, which in all honestly bored me to death! We didn’t have a scanner or anything so we really didn’t know what was going on. We just kinda watched the cars go around and enjoyed ourselves. Then on to Saturday the big race! We arrived at the track fairly early we didn’t want to have to park ten miles away and have to walk. We found our seats on the front stretch a mere 2 sections to the left of the start finish line! YES!!! Unfortunately our seats were directly in the sun, it’s a great night race when the sun goes down but it’s still up if you get there super early like we did. We were really pumped up we had a scanner for this one so we were going to be in the know this time around. We walked down to the fence at the track and took some pictures. Boy was it hot and I needed a nap something fierce. Thanks to the traffic and hour drive home we didn’t get back to my parents house until like 1am the night before. So with winding down and everything bedtime hit at about 3amish. Closer the time drew to the green flag the more my head hurt and by the time the race was starting I had a full blown migraine. I don’t get migraines but of course on the day I had been soooo excited about I get one to the point where I can’t even open my eyes. The noise of the cars alone is enough to give someone a headache even with earplugs. So my big day that I’d looked forward to for so very long had been ruined and I missed pretty much ALL the race. Needless to say I was so disappointed! I missed my driver winning and spinning out the guy I very much dislike. Hopefully there will be a next time where I can actually enjoy the race. And when that next time comes we are staying closer to the track so we can get more rest! Here’s some more pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

It was a beautiful day for racing!

I’m thinking about going back to college. I’ve realized that I’m 27 years old and I have no real career path. I have been enrolled and attended college two different times. Once I was fresh off my summer vacation after I graduated high school and was eager to start college. I majored in Computer Networking at the local community college I had my life planned. Once I gradated college with honors and had my Network Admin job I would be set. Well back then (2000) I made a few mistakes like anyone else who is young. In all my classes were my then boyfriend and his twin brother, they were a couple years older than me and this was their second go at college. I’m not saying that it’s bad to have your significant other in class with you but all the classes was a little much. I had to push myself to do my homework because they didn’t do theirs and when I did mine it was usually homework x 3. I was also working a part time job (which my then boyfriend and his brother also worked at) and living at home with my parents. Not a bad deal if I had to do just my homework, it ended up getting to me and by semester three not only was I burnt out but I was ready for a much needed break.

I decided to quit my part time job and take a couple semesters off to work full time at a local call center to save up some money. In the meantime my then boyfriend and his brother also came to work at this call center, needless to say our relationship ended. I really enjoyed working at the call center, it was internet tech support which what little college I did have helped me with. I lived on the computer (like I do now) and my networking back ground really helped me have a leg up on most of the people who worked there. This is where my story I don’t want to say gets bad but I guess it’s one of those things that happens. I wouldn’t change it for the world but I want other people to learn from my mistakes. During my time at the call center I started dating another guy and I ended up pregnant. It’s much harder to go back to school when you have a child to worry about. Like I said it’s not a bad thing by any means I love my daughter more than life itself, but when you have a certain way planned for your life to be it definitely makes a big change.

Present day, I’m 27 years old, I work from home as a freelance web designer. I’m not that great at my job though I’m getting better and Chris usually helps me with the more difficult things that I’ve yet to master. Chris pays all our bills and everything else for that matter. I hate this! I’m a very HUGE advocate of everything being equal in a relationship and right now ours is more than a little lopsided. So I’ve taken the steps to possibly going back to college. There’s two options here locally for me to take, one is a technical college and one is a branch of a major university. The technical college of course is more affordable and has two different degrees that I’m interested in. Thought they are both associates it’s more than I have now. One is computer science with emphasis in Web Development which is what I’m doing now it will just enforce what I already know and introduce me to some new things. The other is Marketing, now the major university also offers this as a major but the thoughts of taking Biology and Chemistry ack!!! It honestly makes me sick! I sucked at those in High School I can only image college level versions of them! So I’m stuck deciding right now, I may go talk to someone at both colleges sometime this week to check out my options. I also may be waiting until the spring semester since I’m not a legal resident of this state until I’ve lived here a year and that’s not till the end of October.

What do you guys think? Web Development? Marketing? Both? or Can the whole idea and just focus on doing online tutorials to make myself a better designer? Feedback?

So yesterday was my 27th Birthday! I was very excited since Chris had some stuff planned! Monday Chris tells me he’s going to go pick up my presents so he doesn’t have to on the day of my actual birthday. So I stay home while he goes shopping (a first mind you), which I’m glad of so I can finish up my book (that’s another blog). So I clean up the kitchen and continue to read my book when I receive a text message that read “go into the bedroom and turn some music up fairly loud, let me know when you are in there.” So I do so and continue to read my book when I see the door open and in runs this little guy!

While at Petsmart on Sunday I saw him and fell in love. Little did I know that Chris had plans to get him for me and I was utterly shocked since I’d been told numerous times I could not have a cat. He’s a very hyper lil guy we decided to name him Doc, mostly because my daughter loves the movie Cars. He’s been into everything but he’s a baby hopefully he calms down just a hair once he gets more used to the apartment. Chris also gifted me with a new digital camera. We have a nice Sony H-5 that I bought last year while working at Crutchfield but he knew I’d been wanting a smaller one that I could fit in my purse or pocket. He again suckered me into looking at cameras one night while strolling through Wal Mart. He picked out this one it’s a Casio Exilim.

It’s pink and I love it, it’s really small and perfect for what I wanted/needed it for. It has a “youtube” capture mode too. I’m going to test it out and make a video blog one day so we’ll see how it works! Other than that I also was taken to lunch at my favorite place, Atlanta Bread Company, I LOVE their soup and sandwiches! After lunch we came home I napped, Chris worked on a few side projects since he took the day off of normal work for my day. Then we got all cleaned up and headed out to dinner, we went to a local restaurant. Had a really nice evening and came home. I’ve enclosed some pictures from our day taken with my new camera.

Welcome!!! So I finally got around to purchasing my domain and picked out a temporary template! I’m going to use this blog in a few different ways. One to promote my other websites, FemaleRacingNews.com and my Justin.tv Channel. I hope that both of these sites will bring lots of traffic and focus to my site (FRN of course). To showcase the ladies that kick the boys butts on a weekendly basis and take names.. I also want this site to be kinda a way for me to talk about my everyday life, being a stay at home mom trying to become a Internet Mogul. As well as my ventures in drifting and anything else I may tend to dable in. Perhaps a review on things here and there something out there for the girls ya know.

But just to update everyone on things, FemaleRacingNews.com is going to have a new look very soon. I purchased a new template a week or so ago and Chris and I are working hard to get it customized and up on the site. The only thing bad about WordPress is we have to take the site down to work on it so we are trying to keep downtime minimal but also trying to get a good quality site up. On top of that we are bombarded with freelance work right now so me getting this site up was a mircle all in itself! I hope to get everything up on this site very soon. Subscribe to my RSS and check back often!
